Commission of Hand-woven Pillows for a Villa in Crete

Hand-weaving four cotton pillows for a special commission for a villa in Chania, Crete.

We created two pillows in a green colour palette and two in pink/red tones. 

The warp for all the pillows was un-dyed cotton yarn. The weft for the green pillows were cotton yarns hand-dyed with natural dyed such as onion skins, ivy leaves, walnut leaves, acorn cupules and chamomile.

The weft for the pink/red pillows were cotton yarns that we hand-dyed with madder roots, logwood bark, avocado stones, cutch and acacia bark.
